Sometimes Success in Life Depends on a Good Plan B

Our group landed, spread out near a cluster of houses out in the country side. I immediately sensed something was not normal. I was already wound a little tight over the incident that happened just before our jump when in the distance I heard what sounded like gunfire, or was it a vehicle backfiring? 

The question didn't have time to resonate when I heard the sound again. No question about it, gunfire, this time closer, a lot closer! 

What was going on, I didn't know, but standing around out in the open waiting to find out didn't seem like much of a plan.
